Heading up to the Edinburgh fringe (Sort of)

I was going to do a show for a week this year until things got in the way. Now I'm just going up for a weekend. Still exciting for me though, since I haven't been to the fringe before.
Did Long Live Comedy this week, was marvellous. Really felt on form, had some pals there who thought the flag stuff was a massive improvement on the stuff I was doing before.
They are correct - It is.
I'm looking forward to the World Cup, yet I have a question.
Why is it referred to as Italia '90 rather than Italy '90? We don't call it Deutschland '06 or Francais '98. We do call it USA '94 but they speak the same language as us, albeit occasionally missing out the letter U.
I nearly stepped on a heroin users needle today. I wasn't worried, AIDS is not the life sentence it once was.
