Next was Long Live Comedy, also in Newcastle, where for some reason I felt a little less comfortable, perhaps because the good response at my first gig meant that I was not as fastidious at practicing my still new routine, another mistake to learn from.

The microphone broke almost immediately at the start of my set, but some of the resulting adlibs got good responses which was pleasing and it was interesting that the bigger laughs didn't always come in the same places as at the Laughing Penguin. The mic problems meant that I had to leave a lot of material out, unfortunately I still over-ran, but not by as much. I felt that it was more understandable this time; my timing was out due to the technical difficulties...It's a problem I must work on though, I've asked for a digital watch for Christmas.

I also forgot to include a couple of lines, but managed to cover for them, which was good, I'll be careful not to find myself in that position again though.

Davie and Gina came, as did some other friends, but they were more surprising as I rarely see them these days. As they gave me a lift home they said that never thought I was funny, but that I surprised them. They were right, I was one of those crying depressed teens that you hate.
