Some things

Hello again,
I've been a bit busy, here is another good review by the way from the lovely people at gigglebeats who have been very nice about my act so far - http://www.gigglebeats.co.uk/2010/11/review-steffen-peddie-lee-kyle-nick-cranston-and-al-dawes-the-bridge-hotel-newcastle/
Was runner-up in Laughing Penguin's new act of the year competition on Thursday, thought I was in with a chance until I saw Richard Gadd, after which it was a fight for the runners-up spot. I think a smartie chocolate penguin is a better prize than one hundred pounds anyway, so really, myself and 3rd placed Hayley Ellis were the real winners. I gave Richard a handful of my smarties, to show there were no hard feelings.
There were though, he should watch his back.
Also gigged for Laughing Penguin the night before, a year and two days after my first ever gig at their new act night. Felt on great form, probably better than I did the next night, not saying I would have won the next night but if Gadd had any pride he would hand over the money.
I wouldn't have won like, he is dead funny. Thought I should point that out as I'm not sure how well an ironic tone transfers via the written word.
Then, did an open mic night for Kevin Wilkinson in Durham. Had a great time but, well...not sure what happened but I think I might have gone mental for a bit. Was Earth's strangest crowd...
At the palatial Gateshead Town Hall last night for Eric Scarboro, oldest crowd I've played too I think, didn't feel on top form but they liked it I think - A couple of the newer references didn't work but everything got decent laughs.
What else...Stopped running the Open Mic night at Hyem, it was a good night in a lovely venue but was taking up more time than I wanted to devote to it. Hopefully someone else will take it over, I think I need not to promote for a while though. with comedy and wrestling, I have been doing it pretty non stop for half a decade.
I plan on doing a retrospective blog on my first year in stand-up soon, assuming I can be arsed.
